SPECTRA Art + Science Talks: Bodies in Space. Artists, Sarah Jane Pell (AUS) Sue Austin (UK). Host, Natasha Mitchell (RN/ABC). Mercury Cinema, Adelaide 12 October 2018.
Artists, Sarah Jane Pell (AUS) and Sue Austin (UK), both create work in environments that irrevocably alter how they understand, use and perceive their bodies. Natasha Mitchell (ABC RN) hosts a discussion with the artists about the ways in which weightless environments have transformed not just their arts practices, but also their lives.
Spectra 2018 was Australia’s pre-eminent art/science gathering showcasing the best research and creative work being produced through interdisciplinary collaborations between Australian and New Zealand artists and scientists. Cancer Research Institute + MOD University of South Australia 10-12 October 2018
Spectra 2018 explored the increasing convergence of art and science and considered how each area impacts the other and how, together, they shed light on who we are and where we’re heading. The inaugural Spectra took place in Adelaide, South Australia and comprised a three-day symposium, an exhibition, and a public program of screenings, talks and performance.
Spectra 2018 was proudly presented by ANAT (previously known as the Australian Network for Art and Technology), with partners the University of South Australia and Experimenta Media Arts, in association with colleagues drawn from the arts and science sectors, and with generous additional support provided by Arts South Australia.
